ULIMA obtains certificate of carbon footprint Peru
The University of Lima has obtained a Peru Carbon Footprint diploma, a tool of the Peruvian State that recognizes public and private organizations that have managed to manage their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for the benefit of the environment.
In this way, the Ministry of the Environment recognizes our House of Studies for having implemented the Measurement stage, which is the first level of GHG management, in our Monterrico campus during the years 2019 and 2020, through the use of the platform Carbon Footprint Peru.
This achievement corroborates the commitment of the University of Lima as an environmentally responsible institution and ratifies our mission of being an agent of change that contributes to the mitigation of climate change. Our vision as an institution, educational model and sustainability policy seeks to contribute to carbon neutrality in the community.
For its part, the policy and environmental management system of the University of Lima have allowed the deployment of a series of activities and strategies that seek to favor the care of the environment. In 2020 and 2021, with the participation of academic and administrative units and the entire Ulima community, and through the development of training, the production of campaigns and audiovisual content, among other actions, awareness of the urgency of mitigating GHG emissions.
In 2022, our actions will prioritize capacity building related to ISO 14001, a certification that focuses on the environmental management system, the implementation of its procedures, the management of environmental aspects and impacts on campus, and the development of processes. of corresponding audit.
