Giulia Sonetti

University and position: Assistant Professor at the Interuniversity Department of Regional and Urban Studies and Planning

Summary of curriculum: Giulia Sonetti, PhD, MSc, MArch+BArch, is assistant professor at Politecnico di Torino, Sustainability Specialist at Green Team (Turin), Transdisciplinary Researcher at CENSE (Center for Environmental and Sustainability Research (Lisbon), and fellow at the Postdoc Academy for Transformational Leadership (Robert Bosch Stiftung foundation, Berlin). While being organiser, speaker and facilitator of several shared-science and multi-stakeholder workshops around Europe, she designed and implemented many national, EU FP7 / H2020 research projects about inter/trans-disciplinary approaches, university campus sustainability management strategies, organizational change, and transformative education methods. Currently, she is manager and principal investigator at the research project “TrUST – Transdisciplinarity for Urban Sustainability Transition”.

Paolo Tamborrini

University and position: Associate professor at the Department of Architecture and Design.

Summary of curriculum: Paolo Tamborrini is Architect and Associate Professor of Design. He is Head of the Design School at Politecnico di Torino, founder and scientific responsible of Innovation Design Lab. In 2005 he co-founded the Observatory of Eco-Pack (OEP). Since 2015, he is the Communication Workpackage Scientific Advisor of the POLITO GreenTeam and he is the polytechnic delegate at the RUS education work table (Rete delle Università per lo Sviluppo Sostenibile – CRUI – https://goo.gl/QBJqkp). Since 2019 he is the coordinator of the master in Eco Packaging Design – Systemic Innovation Design. He has been coordinator of several research projects at national level and partner of many international projects. He is editor about innovation design, eco-design and sustainability topics for major national design journals.

Barbara Stabellini

University and position: Research fellow at the Department of Architecture and Design.

Summary of curriculum: Barbara Stabellini is a communication & data designer, currently a research fellow at the Polytechnic of Turin, Department of Architecture and Design. She holds a PhD in Management, Production and Design in the same university, and her research focuses on data visualization and innovation design, with a particular attention to the sustainability point of view. Co-founder and active part of the Innovation Design Lab since 2015, she has been visiting researcher at Urban Complexity Lab of Fachhochschule Potsdam (Germany), and currently supports the communication area of the Green Team of the university.

Chiara Genta

University and position: PhD candidate at the Interuniversity Department of Regional and Urban Studies and Planning

Summary of curriculum: Chiara Genta holds a Master’s degree in Architecture. She is a Phd candidate in Urban and Regional Development at the Politecnico di Torino. She collaborates with the Green Team of Politecnico di Torino in relation to awareness activities and implementation of SDGs. Starting from 2018, she is involved in several national and European research projects regarding urban sustainability and evaluations models. In recent years she participated as a speaker in several conferences and published on international journals on the topic of sustainability in Universities campuses and on the assessment of sustainable development at urban level.

Patrizia Lombardi

University and position: Deputy Rector and Full professor at the Interuniversity Department of Regional and Urban Studies and Planning.

Summary of curriculum: Patrizia Lombardi holds a PhD in Sustainable Urban Development Evaluation, MSc in Urban Planning, and is Full Professor of Sustainable Urban Planning Evaluation and Project Appraisal. She is Deputy rector of Politecnico di Torino, President of the Italian Network of Universities for Sustainable development (RUS) and coordinator of the Green Team of Politecnico di Torino. She is also an established figure in the field of evaluating smart and sustainable urban development for over 20 years, publishing widely in the subject area and coordinating, or serving as lead partner, in several Pan-European Projects related to Sustainable built environment, Smart Cities, Post carbon society and Cultural heritage. She is responsible for the training connected to the research project EEB – Zero Carbon Urban District related to the Programme Smart Cities & Communities launched by the Ministry of Scientific Research. Since 2010, she is Chair of the UNESCO Master “World Heritage and Cultural Projects for Development” managed by the Turin School of development of the International Labour Organization (ILO). She was awarded in 2012 by the Alumni of Salford University of the Great Manchester for her career achievements.

Amina Pereno

University and position: Research fellow at the Department of Architecture and Design.

Summary of curriculum: Amina Pereno holds a PhD in Management, Production and Design from Politecnico di Torino where she is working as post-doc fellow in Systemic Design and lecturer of “Environmental Requirements of Industrial Products”. She has been a Lagrange Project fellow at ISI Global Science Foundation and a visiting researcher at the Nordic Center for Sustainable Healthcare (Sweden) to carry out research projects on the application of systemic design to healthcare systems. Her research focuses on systemic design applied to socio-technological systems and their sustainable transition. In particular, she has been taking part in several national and international projects on circular economy related to different industrial sectors. She is author of many international peer-review publications about systems and design thinking, sustainable development and design strategies.
