Carla is the quality manager at Iscte, and works to implement robust quality assurance procedures and compliance with the ISO:9001 standard. She also ensures the compliance of specific quality management operational tasks related to the requirements of general control of documents and records, internal audits, non-compliance, corrective and preventive actions and complaints. Carla was deeply involved in the certification process of Iscte Integrated Quality Assurance System (SIGQ-Iscte) that was certified by the Agency for Assessment and Accreditation of Higher Education (A3ES).
Carla has performed several studies to assess learning quality and provision of services to the community. Carla also holds a Master´s degree in Sociology in the Higher Education area and holds an Internal Quality Auditors certification.
Raquel Velada has a PhD in Social and Organizational Psychology, in the specialty of Organizational Behavior, by Iscte. She currently coordinates the Iscte’s Studies, Planning and Quality Office, where she promotes studies on the evaluation of the quality of teaching/service and the preparation and monitoring of plans and reports of institutional activities, also providing support to the other organic units – academic and services of ISCTE-IUL – in the planning and reporting of activities. She is also responsible for monitoring and supporting the faculty performance evaluation process and for updating the institutional performance indicators that allow responding to the evaluation of institutional activities and international rankings. Since 2015 she has been Director of Quality at Iscte, being responsible for the maintenance and certification of the Integrated Quality Assurance System according to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 (Quality and Sustainability, respectively) and the standards of national and international assessment agencies. She is author/co-author of some scientific articles and publications in the area of vocational training evaluation.

This is what I do, with the leverage points I can reach, as a person, and professionally as a consultant, and sometimes coach or teacher. Creativity, Cooperation, Facilitation are key words of how I work. People say I bring systems thinking, strategy, and ideas or tools they can use the next day in their own environment. I nearly forgot: I believe that having fun and being inspired are very strong reasons to act.

Vasco Rato is Associate Professor at Iscte-University Institute of Lisbon, teaching sustainability at the Dpt. of Architecture and Urbanism and researching at ISTAR-Iscte on regenerative and performance-based low impact design using multi-criteria decision analysis. He is an Architect with a MSc. in Construction and a PhD in Civil Engineering, and has training in Business Sustainability Management (Univ. of Cambridge CISL-BSM Program), and in Circular Economy for a Sustainable Built Environment (TU Delft/edX). Global project leader of ‘QualEnv – Change the Climate’ (Erasmus+ CBHE GA2019-1968/001-001), and part of the ongoing projects ‘Smart-BEEjS Human-Centric Energy Districts: Smart Value Generation by Building Efficiency and Energy Justice for Sustainable Living’ (H2020-MCSA-ITN-2018 GA812730), and ‘RE-DWELL Delivering affordable and sustainable housing in Europe’ (H2020-MSCA-ITN-2020 GA956082). As Director of Sustainability at Iscte (2017-2018), he led a team that implemented an ISO 14001-certified environmental management system.

Estela brings experience and expertise about sustainability, especially in the Higher Education sector, and Sulitest. Graduated from an international business school, Estela has experience working across borders. During her academic background, she was involved and active in student engagement, especially, student engagement for sustainability. At Sulitest, Estela collaborates and develops international partnerships across a network of universities improving sustainability practices in education and operations. As Community Manager, her role entails a range of CRM activities, building and strengthening relationships with key stakeholders, managing communication campaigns and supporting users.
Catarina Roseta-Palma (BRU-Iscte, PhD in Economics, Nova SBE, 2000) is Associate Professor in the Economics Department as well as Director of Sustanability at Iscte. Her main research interests are in the area of water management, but she has published work on sustainable development, technological change and climate adaptation. She has worked as a consultant for Regional Water Boards, the Portuguese Environment Agency, the Environment Ministry and the European Commission. She was a member of the Portuguese Commission for Green Fiscal Reform (2014).
She is a member of the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists, where she was Council Member and Vice-president (2012-2013). She has coordinated research projects and she has been visiting fellow in Spain (U. Politécnica de Madrid) and New Zealand (U. Victoria). She presents both her academic work and her policy insights in conferences and dissemination events, national and international, a few times a year.
